Grass Roots anemometer

Before you bring wind energy to remote villages, or even to your own back yard, you need to measure the winds. This usually requires purchasing some sort of meteorological station with sensors and a data logger.

But not everyone can afford this kind of equipment, or maybe don't want to buy it before they know if they need it.
