Opening words by Greek's Chief Commissar, Eviatar Tron
Welcome to greekers.net, GREEK's new site. We hope you'll find it useful (and interesting). After all, that's why we're here. GREEK (the yearly unconference) and Greekers.net (this very website) are all about technology, environment, what's between them and what's, well, around them. Greek is for people like you and me: inquisitive, creative people, who feel there still a lot left to be made better in this world -- and while fixing the world may not be easy, it's definitely interesting.
GREEK is an unconference, and that means that its content are entirely in the hands of its participants. But GREEK only happens once a year, and this site is going to be here before the unconf starts and after it ends. This site, much like the unconference that gave birth to it, is created by its participants, and in fact we urge you that the very next thing you'll do after reading this welcome is add something to the site: an idea, a new project , a search for collaborators, or just something about yourself: a picture is a good start, but do add practical things about yourself: what are your interests? What can you contribute to GREEK -- do you own a workshop? Are you skilled in electronics? An expert on photovoltaic cells? Also add your location, so people around you can contact you.
This site, as you can see, is meant to be a powerful tool for those who want to learn, do and collaborate. Please note the search bar on the top. It will help you sort out the great many different topics that greekers talk about to just what's interesting to you.
So, what's your first contribution to GREEK going to be?
